We had left the Shiva Dol of Jaysagar behind as we walked through the lonely road. The trees were in full bloom. Their flowers had formed beautiful colorful carpets on the ground. The carpets were like that of Aladdin; they had the power to show you the world of the scented melodies where you would be nothing but satisfied on a whole new level. While admiring the flowers and taking pictures from multiple angles, we had come across the CRPF area. There was a CRPF guy sitting inside a small house. I smiled at him but he did not smile back. That was kind of embarrassing.
As we walked further, we could see the entry gate of the last place in our itinerary- The Swargadeo Rudrasingha Park. We were more than astonished to watch the details that had been carved with precision and unimaginable skills. Most of the entry gates of Sivasagar monuments had showcased some powerful animals such as dragons or lions. There was no entry fee to go inside.

The park was spread over a very large area. The main architecture was situated a bit remote from the entry gate. On the way, we could see a statue of a warrior holding a sword standing on a high pedestal. We could also make out a fountain on the way which had lots and lots of plastic inside. It was not working and nobody seemed to care. The place definitely had an urgent requirement of some dedicated maintenance. The growing forest on the way inside needs to be cleared as it might possess snakes and other dangerous beings.
Maintained one mesmerize, disconnected one disappoint.
The park had not been given the attention it deserved. It seemed that for the intention to spare it as an untouched beauty, they had disconnected it. It could cry out its story that with time it was forgotten. Leaving such mighty ruins of our land leaves me demoralized. The one thing I had loved about the place is that there was nobody, it had harbored complete silence. The only sounds were those of the cows, birds and whirling clean air. The park had serenity in every corner of it which had pushed it to the top of my personal favorite list of Sivasagar places.
The pictures above seem to present some snaps of the Mughal monuments but they are not. The beautiful monument standing here is the Swargadeo Rudrasingha Dol. It had been built in the honor of Sukhrungphaa or Swargadeo Rudra Singha. The structure was breathtakingly beautiful. It had a small jharokha on the side through which light rays could penetrate inside lighting up the white interior. There was an incomplete construction beside the structure. A small fort was also there to glorify as well as complete the beauty of the main Dol. When we went near the incomplete structure, we had observed the bricks very carefully. At first, we had the myth that the bricks had been cut out of big rocks. Later we had come to know that they were sundried clay blocks. The bricks then were different from those that we use today. They were longer and flatter. Similar bricks had been excavated in the ruins of The Surya Pahar in Goalpara.

With the Swargadeo Rudrasingha Park, our itinerary had come to an end. There was a queue of Krishnachura trees in their pink floral blankets which had not looked less than a cherry blossom in Shillong. At first, we were in confusion between the Shiva Dol near the Sivsagar Tank and that in Jaysagar. While exiting the main Jaysagar Gate the green board at the side had a proper explanation which we had been able to read while waiting for the driver of the tempo parked aside. We were mesmerized to see The Rang Ghar in our way back to the ASTC area. We had other things too in our checklist which we unfortunately could not visit. The Fakua Dol was one of them - it resembles a pyramid and was dissimilar to all the Dols I had talked about.
We stood beside the Borpukhuri again for the last time. The black leaves in the repeatedly focused photographs had started trying turning dark green. The rainfall had come to lower its intensity. Some part of the sky went from white to blue with a tinge of light grey announcing the arrival of the evening. Our heads needed some coffee. My partner and I had started feeling hungry. We had to try a popular café called Flavourzz (although I do not remember how many 'z's were there in its name) out there in the place. We had French fries, a masala soda and a coffee. While the French fries were too good, we had expected more from the coffee.

Sivasagar had incredible things to offer. We had been there for like two days and it had been able to attach with us already. Day one had been hard to survive. But after day two we only had two words to utter 'worth it'. It is truly said, the harder you work the more you understand the value of something. The town had managed to engage us in every way possible. We had loved it at that moment more than the way we had loved to hate it the previous day. We went to see the reflection of the Shiva Dol on the Sivasagar Tank surface. Watching the three Dols light up together in the evening had made a different room in our emotional memory card. The pigeons were flying over the heads of the Dols. Their husbands had been taking them back to their homes for the babies were alone. Sivasagar had a less active night life- a large part of the market was closed before 8 p.m.
Do you remember your last day at school? I had hated my school for like eternity, but while leaving I had realized that nothing could ever replace it's room in my heart. Same was the feeling at that moment. It was emotional. We had finally headed to the ASTC bus stand. After a recapitulation of the whole trip with my partner, we had climbed up our seats and had enjoyed the night views in the running bus. The first trip of my life was awesome.
